Dario Nardella
Dario Nardella was born on November 20, 1975, in Torre del Greco (Naples). Since 1989 he has been living in Florence. He has loved and played music since he was a child. He has studied violin at the Academy of Music “Conservatorio Cherubini” in Florence, where he obtained a diploma in 1998. Until 2004 he has been a professional music performer. He has studied Law and graduated from the Florence University with first class-honours (magna cum laude) where he has subsequently received a Ph.D. in Constitutional Law. He is currently University Professor at the Florence University where he teaches Cultural Heritage Law.
In the last government of President Prodi (2006-2008) he has been legal advisor to the Minister for Relations with Parliament and for Constitutional reforms, Mr. Vannino Chiti, with whom he has continued to collaborate at the Vice Presidency of the Senate in Rome. In 2004 he was elected to the Florence City Council, where he was appointed as Chairman of the Cultural Instruction and Sport Commission. In 2009 he was again elected to the Florence City Council and subsequently nominated as Vice Mayor in the City Government of the Mayor Matteo Renzi. He is Deputy Mayor in charge of Economic Development and Sports.
He manages the Foundation “Eunomia”, which he founded in 2005 together with other Professors of the Florence University – Leonardo Morlino, Enzo Cheli, Andrea Simoncini e Pier Francesco Lotito. In 2008 he was selected by the U.S.A. State Department as young Italian political man to attend the International Visitor Leadership Program. He authored several books and articles regarding public, constitutional and cultural heritage law with publishing houses like Il Mulino, Passigli, Polistampa, UTET.
