Carlo Sisi

Until October 2006 Carlo Sisi was director of the Gallery of Modern Art of the Pitti Palace in Florence, where he supervised the rearrangement of the permanent exhibition and edited the general catalog. He also directed, from 1999 to 2002, the Costume Gallery. Since 1998 he is president of the Museum Marino Marini in Florence, where he has organized exhibitions on contemporary art. His main interest is Italian and European art of the Nineteenth and Twentieth centuries, to which he has devoted several essays and numerous exhibitions. One remarkable exhibition, curated with Fernando Mazzocca, is I Macchiaoli. Before Impressionism (Palace Zabarella, Padua) the largest display on this movement to take place in recent years.
